Hey players!

Please make sure your team is aware of the following:

1. Host Hotel

Due to many players staying with locals, we have determined there isn't enough demand or desire for a host hotel this year. If you're having trouble finding a place to stay, feel free to reach out and we can recommend a good area close to the venue.

2. After Party

The after party will be at 8pm on Saturday at Cold Garden. We have a couple tables reserved on the patio, and a few inside the taphouse. All of them are under "Dodgeball Hub".

Cold Garden allows dogs in their taphouse, and therefor they don't serve food. However, they are in a great area, and have no issue with you ordering straight to the brewery. Again, we are happy to help you pick out some great spots to grab food or have it delivered. You can also check out our "Calgary Tour Guide" highlights on Instagram for more inspiration!

3. Waivers

We require all players to complete a waiver. Dodgeball Alberta has been kind enough to help us with the facility rental, and so we will be using their waivers as well. You can find the waivers here

4. Cloth Drop-in

We will be hosting a free cloth drop-in May 25th from 3-5pm at Grace Lutheran Church 3610 Sarcee Rd SW. Come check it out if you are new to the style, or happen to be in town before the tournament and want to say hello!

5. Rule Changes & Refs

We're going to put out a video in the coming weeks explaining the rule changes and house rules for the tournament. Please take a look when you are able. We will have a quick ref meeting before the tournament begins to go over these as well, but it will help us stay on schedule if you all review the videos in advance.

Scores will be submitted via tablets on each court. It is very important that the tablets do not leave the court they are assigned to. We will give you a brief tutorial of how the tablets work prior to the event. Please ask if anything is unclear.

6. Streaming

Our besties at Dodgeball.LIVE are coming to visit and do some streaming while they're at it! We're aiming to have a lot of fun with this event, so feel free to say hello, and maybe even jump on the mic.

7. Prize Pool

THANK YOU to our sponsors over at RiverCity Scaffold and Dodgeball Memes for helping to sponsor our prize pool! We are still calculating our final numbers, but we have been able to guarantee a prize of at least $900 for all 2v2 divisions.

These guys are local heroes that have done all sorts of event scaffolding and seating. They might even lend us some gear for a better camera angle. If you happen to find yourself near any of their branding, tag us in the photo, the more we can show off what we can do for our sponsors, the bigger our prize pools become in the future!
