Dodgeball Toronto is thrilled to host our second annual women's, men's and coed CASH & PRIZES dodgeball tournament. We aim to set a standard with our tournaments to bring you a high-quality event. Among many others, our tournament attractions and features include: -Player-centered tournament, run by and for dodgeball players in touch with community members and leaders to offer you the best possible dodgeball experience ❤️ -We film 📸 ALL matches in ALL divisions in high-def (1080p) uploaded to our YouTube channel -Dedicated event photographer 📸 for players to create & share memories -Tournament wide professional videography 🎥 for highlights, promotion, and dodgeball content creation -Complimentary certified athletic treatment courtesy of our dear friends at @thespotrpr 💆🏼♀️💆🏻♂️ -ALL matches officiated by 2 referees and 2 lines-people 👨🏼⚖️👩🏻⚖️ with a dedicated head / 'main' referee for every court 👨🏾⚖️👩🏼⚖️ -High quality courts and venue courtesy of the world-class Markham Pan Am Community Centre, with 6 courts to accommodate more teams and games 👬🏽 -Condensed and improved tournament scheduling ⌚️🕰️ -Host / sponsor hotel 🏨 -Sizeable cash prizes 💵💰 -Giveaways!! 🎟️ -More to be announced 🙂 Tournament types: Open women's, open men's, recreational coed and restricted coed (minimum 3 per gender), all full team submissions - we will be taking individual registrations for indies looking to be placed on a team or on an individual team. The men's and women's divisions will have consolation playoffs - we will decide based on finals numbers - essentially creating an 'intermediate' division within the comp division when we get to playoffs. Two different brackets, more balanced games and more winners crowned! Coed restricted teams will be restricted to 2 members per gender of National Program Athletes from the 2022 Team Canada and 2023 Team USA squads. The rationale is to prevent overly stacking our teams in the coed division and permitting room for healthier wide-range competition and growth. Our women's and men's divisions will be open and unrestricted. Final coed team rosters are subject to approval / revision for the few teams that don't embrace the spirit of the restriction by diversifying their team! Players will only be eligible to play in recreational OR restricted - no highly competitive players will be permitted in our recreational division - we're still revising final guidelines. The general rule of thumb is: If you have to ask "Can I play rec?" then you probably can't. No national team members, no high performing @ Nationals players. Start date: Saturday, January 6th, 2024 (Men's & Women's round robin and playoffs) End date: Sunday, January 7th, 2024 (Coed recreational & restricted round robin and playoffs) Duration: 1 day tournaments (we expect to run men's and women's play on day 1, and coed play on day 2. This isn't an absolute but a heavy likelihood, pending registration) Time: Saturday, January 6th, 2024 7am start to Sunday, January 7th, 2024 10pm finish.
